Ori Part 4 turned into a full Metroidvania exploration night. Ori could now Double Jump, Bash, Stomp, Dash, and finally swim through water without immediately becoming dead Ori. BeepBoopJim filed this one under “additional mobility granted despite clear management concerns.”

First, Jim returned to Nibel after restoring the Water Vein and surviving the Ginso Tree. The new movement kit opened a huge number of old routes. Naturally, this meant backtracking.

The payoff came quickly. Jim found Ability Cells, Energy Cells, health upgrades, underwater secrets, and several places he had apparently walked past while staring directly at the map.

Then Air Dash entered the file.

This gave Jim another movement button to remember, which felt like a dangerous amount of responsibility. Soon after, Water Breath made underwater exploration much easier. Rapid Flame also joined the growing list of upgrades.

Bash. Dash. Stomp. Double Jump. Swimming. Air Dash.

Jim had become significantly more mobile. The planning department had concerns.

Meanwhile, the exploring pushed toward Misty Woods. Jim quickly discovered that going farther was probably a bad idea. As a result, the route turned back across the map.

That detour opened more secrets. Jim solved previously blocked puzzles, collected more health, found the Lost Grove, and experimented with Light Bursts and Bash. Old parts of Nibel kept turning into new problems.

Eventually, the stream reached a much hotter section of the map. Another major story gate appeared, creating a very obvious problem for Part 5.

The save strategy also remained fully operational.

Jim saved constantly, forgot where he saved, died, questioned the save, and then remembered that saving also heals Ori. Later, he even bought upgrades that made saving better.

BeepBoopJim has classified this as character development.

Before the forest adventure, Old Man Jim also opened a local newspaper from September 22, 1926. Within minutes, the stream found claims about mosquitoes preferring blondes, arsenic dust on tennis grounds, diabetes experiments, temperance meetings, toothpick statistics, and a French anti-slang club.

Old Man Jim reading the paper may now be a thing.

Chat also discovered that multiple ASMR redeems could stack. This trapped Jim in several minutes of increasingly aggressive whispered affirmations.

Everyone is valid.

Everyone deserves rest.

Jim was becoming visibly less restful.

By the end of Ori Part 4, Nibel had opened up dramatically. Air Dash, Water Breath, Rapid Flame, swimming, and the older movement abilities turned nearly every part of the map into somewhere worth checking again.

Next up: investigate the new story gate, keep searching for secrets, and find out how many more movement buttons Jim can be trusted with.

Bash. Dash. Stomp. Jim.

Oh, now Jim can swim.
