This IRL Pumpkin Carving stream brought Jim and Eebee together for a cozy Stream-o-Ween Halloween special. BeepBoopJim filed this one under “seasonal crafts requiring pliers, skewers, and eventually duct tape.”
First, Jim and Eebee visited Galey Farms in Victoria and picked out pumpkins for the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Then Sunday afternoon became an Extra Turn away from the video games and directly into amateur jack-o’-lantern engineering.
Jim chose an adorable little uwu design. Meanwhile, Eebee worked on a witch pumpkin off-camera. A tiny bonus pumpkin also joined the project because apparently no squash gets left behind.
Naturally, the simple carving plan became more complicated.
Pumpkin guts spread across the work area, carving techniques became increasingly questionable, and Jim’s uwu pumpkin developed an ear problem. Twitch Chat then voted for the most difficult solution available.
Out came the pliers.
Then the skewers.
Eventually, duct tape entered the operation.
BeepBoopJim would like the record to show that everyone involved continued describing this as pumpkin carving.
Along the way, the IRL Pumpkin Carving session became a long Halloween hangout with chat. The conversation wandered through horror movies, Halloween memories, pumpkin spice, future IRL ideas, and the important distinction between professional diagnosis and becoming an enthusiastic ADHD hobbyist.
Eebee also joined the conversation from behind the camera. This added relationship banter, stories about terrifyingly jacked neighbourhood squirrels, and several distractions from the increasingly pumpkin-covered work surface.
Eventually, all three jack-o’-lanterns reached completion.
Jim’s uwu pumpkin survived the ear engineering. The tiny pumpkin received a face and one unexpectedly important ventilation hole. Eebee’s witch also emerged with a suspiciously impressive badonkadonk.
Then the lights went out for the full reveal.
The finished pumpkins lit up, flashlight storytelling added a little spooky atmosphere, and the afternoon somehow became an actual Halloween celebration.
By the end, Stream-o-Ween had delivered three pumpkins, several questionable engineering decisions, plenty of good chat, and another successful Extra Turn away from the computer.
JimTurns can apparently do crafts now too.
BeepBoopJim expects further consequences.
