Ori Part 7 finally made Sorrow Pass a real place. BeepBoopJim filed this one under “significant vertical progress followed by another evening of not finding the Sunstone.”

After restoring the Element of Winds last week, Jim finally had a route upward. Naturally, Sorrow Pass immediately delivered wind currents, spikes, hidden passages, keystones, and enough keyboard gymnastics to make his pinky finger part of the core gameplay loop.

Still, the climb paid off. Jim uncovered more of the map, gathered the required keystones, and pushed farther into the pass.

Then another Ancestral Tree appeared.

This one unlocked Charge Jump.

Suddenly, Ori could charge upward and reach places that had been sitting just out of range for several streams. Of course, the new ability also added another button combination for Jim to remember under pressure.

More importantly, Charge Jump opened a ridiculous number of old routes.

So Jim stopped following the objective.

The rest of the night became another Metroidvania cleanup expedition. Triple Jump, Climb, Kuro’s Feather, Bash, Dash, Air Dash, Stomp, Water Breath, and now Charge Jump made large parts of Nibel worth checking again.

As a result, Jim started collecting Energy Cells, Life Cells, Ability Cells, secrets, and other pickups that had been taunting him from inaccessible corners.

Then came an even bigger discovery.

Spirit Wells have fast travel.

Roughly 30 hours into Ori, Jim learned that he had been walking across Nibel while a perfectly functional warp system waited for him to press a different button.

First warp. Thirty hours in.

Easy game. Game for babies.

Naturally, this discovery made the cleanup operation much easier. Jim jumped between old areas, filled in sections of the map, opened forgotten doors, and checked routes that finally made sense with the expanded movement kit.

He even returned to Mount Horu to confirm one important detail.

Yes, the game still wanted the Sunstone.

Still no Sunstone.

Before the forest adventure, Jim also caught up with chat after skipping Monday for Canadian Thanksgiving. The official explanation remains turkey, stuffing, and absolutely no regrets.

Sunday’s IRL pumpkin carving stream with Eebee also entered the conversation. That VOD had already reached the BeepBoopJim archive, while the highlight edit moved into the next stage.

By the end of Ori Part 7, Sorrow Pass had finally opened, Charge Jump had joined the movement kit, and Spirit Well fast travel had changed exploration forever.

The Sunstone remained missing.

Next week: perhaps the Sunstone.

Perhaps.
