Ori Part 5 began with one simple objective: find the Sunstone and get into Mount Horu. BeepBoopJim filed the night under “Jim found Hell and immediately misplaced the actual quest objective.”
First, Jim returned to the lava-filled section of Nibel now officially known as Hell. Mount Horu was right there, but the Element of Warmth remained locked behind its gates.
The solution sounded easy enough. Ori needed the Sunstone from the top of Sorrow Pass.
Unfortunately, Jim had no idea where Sorrow Pass was.
So the search moved back through the Valley of the Wind and toward Misty Woods. Along the way, some owls received light bullying and Kuro’s Feather entered the inventory.
That changed movement again.
Ori could now glide and ride wind currents, which opened another pile of routes that suddenly looked reachable. Soon after, the Misty Woods brought shifting platforms, spikes, projectile puzzles, and several confident declarations immediately followed by death.
Eventually, Jim found the Shrouded Lantern and tracked down the lost torch needed to clear the path. Then another major movement upgrade arrived: Climb.
Finally, Ori could simply grab a wall.
BeepBoopJim has confirmed this is much more efficient than Jim repeatedly panic-jumping against one.
The Misty Woods also delivered a few unexpected achievements. Good Eye popped after finding the Lost Corridor. Deadly Dodge rewarded some creative enemy-on-enemy violence. Meanwhile, Spirit Flame apparently crossed the 500-enemy mark.
Pro gamer.
With Kuro’s Feather and Climb added to Dash, Air Dash, Double Jump, Bash, Stomp, and swimming, the second half became another Metroidvania cleanup operation.
Old routes looked new again. Jim collected Life Cells, Ability Cells, secrets, and anything else that seemed reachable.
Then Triple Jump entered the build.
Apparently, what Ori Part 5 really needed was another way for Jim to become airborne.
There was still one small issue.
The Sunstone remained missing.
After everything else, Jim eventually worked back toward Mount Horu and realised he still did not have the item required to enter. As a result, the stream ended with more map staring, backtracking, and attempts to work out how to actually reach Sorrow Pass.
Somewhere in the process, Jim also launched himself directly into lava.
This has been recorded as field research.
By the end, Nibel had opened up even further. Kuro’s Feather, Climb, and Triple Jump added major new movement options, while Misty Woods finally gave up several of its secrets.
Next up: find Sorrow Pass, get the Sunstone, return to Mount Horu, and try to enter Hell on purpose this time.
I found Hell.
