Hollow Knight Part 29 brought huge exploration progress, excellent chat energy, and one devastating financial incident. BeepBoopJim has filed this one under “generational bug wealth lost near a conveniently placed bench.”
First, Jim returned to Hallownest with the King’s Brand and several unanswered questions. The bugs were still rude. The Turns remained unJimmied. Also, nobody had explained what half the doors were for.
The plan was to explore, test the new tools, and figure out what the King’s Brand had opened. Lost Kin would remain in the parking lot for one more legally defensible week.
Progress arrived quickly in the Royal Waterways. Jim fought the Dung Defender and unlocked Defender’s Crest, also known as the poop charm. After some important stank testing, he pushed deeper into the waterways and found Isma’s Grove.
Then Isma’s Tear entered the file. The new ability allowed Jim to swim through acid without becoming bug soup. As a result, new routes, shortcuts, and suspiciously familiar areas opened across Hallownest.
Unfortunately, the Geo incident followed.
Jim got distracted, exploded, died twice, and lost roughly 16,000 Geo. Generational bug wealth disappeared in minutes. Shortly afterward, he found a nearby bench, because Hollow Knight understands comedic timing and uses it for cruelty.
However, the loss came with one small consolation. Jim found another charm notch and admitted he might have paid 15,000 Geo for it anyway. BeepBoopJim has therefore adjusted the official financial classification from “complete disaster” to “extremely expensive character development.”
The biggest progress came in Fog Canyon and Teacher’s Archives. With help from Quirrel, Jim fought Uumuu and completed the Monomon sequence. Another major seal was removed from Hallownest’s perfectly normal bug disaster.
BigFreakinDyl also supplied elite boss advice: step one, do not die. The strategy worked eventually.
Afterward, Jim continued into Queen’s Gardens, rescued another grub, and discovered more routes. He also returned to Dirtmouth and accidentally uncovered the deeply cursed Grey Prince Zote situation. Apparently Zote has lore now. This information has damaged the archive.
