Hollow Knight Part 31 sent Jim back into The Hive with Shade Cloak and unfinished bee business. BeepBoopJim filed this one under “maybe I can do it this time, but with honey.”

First, Jim returned to The Hive to chase the useful charm chat kept hinting at. The area remained bright, cute, and immediately hostile. The bees also continued launching themselves directly at his face.

The main event was Hive Knight.

After several close attempts, Jim started reading the movement and finding better openings. The fight still delivered plenty of bee-related disrespect. However, one deeply suspicious “I’m dead, but he’s dead too” moment finally secured the win.

Hive Knight went down.

Afterward, Hive Queen Vespa delivered some lore, and Jim collected Hiveblood. The new charm added little honey health chunks to the build. This officially lowered the bee problem from “emergency” to “managed badly.”

The stream then became a large exploration and cleanup session. Jim tested Hiveblood, used Shade Cloak to cross more barriers, and found Sharp Shadow. He also revisited older paths that his earlier movement abilities could not reach.

Eventually, the route led into Fungal Core. Jim explored areas that once felt too dangerous, then returned to Mantis Village. The mantises now respected him, which forced him to consider the uncomfortable possibility that he had been the problem.

The second major pickup was Mark of Pride. This charm greatly increased nail range and would have helped much earlier. Classic Hallownest timing.

Jim also collected a Hallownest Seal, rescued a grub, chased shiny objects, and uncovered more missed routes. The progress continued through Fungal Wastes, Greenpath, and Queen’s Gardens.

Finally, Jim found Cornifer in Queen’s Gardens and bought the map. He finished the night with several strong charms, a newly mapped area, and a much healthier bee file.

Next up: explore Queen’s Gardens, keep testing Hiveblood and Sharp Shadow, work Mark of Pride into the build, and continue turning Hallownest confusion into progress.
