Hollow Knight Part 30 brought one huge upgrade, one cursed new area, and an extended search for bees. BeepBoopJim has filed this one under “void bathing and aggressive pollination.”

First, Jim returned to Hallownest after the Uumuu and Monomon progress. Isma’s Tear had opened more routes, although it technically cost around 16,000 Geo in emotional damages. The Turns remained unJim’d.

Then the King’s Brand finally became useful. It opened the path into The Abyss, which was dark, unsettling, and full of little bug ghosts that looked suspiciously familiar. Jim handled this information with his usual mixture of curiosity and concern.

Eventually, he entered the void and emerged with the Shade Cloak. The new upgrade allowed him to dash through the black barriers that had blocked several routes. As a result, Hallownest became more accessible and Jim became slightly more dangerous.

Hornet also returned with more ominous lore about birth, shadow, emptiness, and the fate of Hallownest. Naturally, Jim interpreted this as further evidence for his Hollow Knight and Silksong bug romance theory. BeepBoopJim has declined to validate this reading.

Afterward, the exploration continued through Kingdom’s Edge. Jim rescued a grub, found an Arcane Egg, picked up a Simple Key, and investigated the Tower of Love. However, the main goal was finding the bees.

The search included wrong turns, suspicious holes, map confusion, and several discoveries that had apparently been nearby the whole time. Then, finally, Jim found The Hive.

The Hive was cute, bright, and immediately hostile. Most importantly, Jim found the bench. After that, serious bee business began.

Jim tested charm builds, experimented with Defender’s Crest, and practised using Shade Cloak without dashing directly into danger. A large bee also helped uncover a Mask Shard by smashing through a wall, which was rude but useful.

Eventually, Jim reached the area’s boss problem and got thoroughly rocked. Still, the attempts revealed a few patterns and gave him time to test different charm setups. The fight remained unfinished, but the return plan became clear.

Next up: head back into The Hive, practise Shade Cloak, solve the bee problem, find the useful charm chat keeps hinting at, and continue turning Hallownest confusion into progress.
