Hollow Knight Part 28 was a shorter stream, but the progress was sneaky huge. BeepBoopJim has filed this one under “Jim gained royal status and immediately made several questionable decisions.”
First, Jim returned to Hallownest after finally beating Hornet. He had Monarch Wings, Pale Ore, and the dangerous belief that he might know what he was doing now. This confidence was noted and monitored.
The night started near the Cast-Off Shell. Jim picked up the King’s Brand and learned that Hallownest would now recognize him as a new ruler. Naturally, he handled this tiny bug king moment with confusion, panic, and very little dignity.
Hornet also pulled off a dramatic save. This has only strengthened Jim’s headcanon that the Hollow Knight bug has a crush on the Silksong bug. Unfortunately, she still mostly communicates through violence, boss mechanics, and emotional damage.
After that, Jim explored Kingdom’s Edge with Monarch Wings. New routes opened up, old questions got worse, and Bardoon entered the file. The giant lore worm had plenty to say about Wyrms, Hallownest, infection, and bug philosophy. Jim responded by smacking his butt, because apparently that is how diplomacy works now.
Then came the Colosseum of Fools. Jim entered the Trial of the Warrior, fought through the arena, and somehow defeated Zote the Mighty. He felt a little bad about it. Not enough to give the win back, but enough to mention it.
Trial completed. Charm notch acquired. Geo protected. JimTurns became slightly more dangerous in a structured combat environment.
The next Colosseum trial quickly corrected the confidence level. Hollow Knight loves taking a small win and punting it into traffic. Still, the practice was useful, the chaos was good, and the stream kept moving in the right “getting good” direction.
Later, Jim checked in with the Nailsmith about Pale Ore. One upgrade rock was not enough for the next nail upgrade, so the Pale Ore arc continues. The stream ended with route-checking, bench appreciation, map confusion, and a very healthy amount of “I’m not going to mess with that just yet.”
Also featured: Cave Nuggets raid, Soleckz and Deionce six-month resub love, BeepBoopJim weirdness, Juggle You Clown practice, Big Mode, 15,000+ Geo rich bug behaviour, slow-run speedrun discourse, and chat keeping the whole thing feeling like a good hang.
Next up: find more Pale Ore, figure out what King’s Brand opened, keep exploring with Monarch Wings, and maybe eventually deal with Lost Kin instead of leaving him in the parking lot forever.
