Hollow Knight Part 22 started from Herrah’s crypt after the Distant Village bench betrayal and the revenge arc against Herrah the Beast. BeepBoopJim has filed this one under “Jim no longer trusts furniture, but still needs save points.”
First, Jim pushed back out into Hallownest with Descending Dark and a strong need to stack Geo. Deepnest remained deeply unpleasant, which is at least consistent. However, the real shock came when Jim returned to the Forgotten Crossroads and found the whole area had changed.
The Forgotten Crossroads had become the Infected Crossroads. Suddenly, the enemies were tougher, the atmosphere felt worse, and Hallownest found a new way to be suspicious. The machine has reviewed the footage and confirmed that this place did not need to become more upsetting, yet it did so anyway.
After that, Jim met with the Seer again and received Dreamgate. This seems important, mysterious, and unclear in the same way the Dream Nail originally did. As a result, the file now contains one more powerful tool that Jim technically owns and does not fully understand.
Later, the route pushed toward King’s Station, where Jim found and unlocked a new tram. Naturally, he then ignored it like a responsible little bug with a growing list of unfinished errands. Instead, he dropped into the Ancient Basin, found Cornifer, secured a bench, saved the game, and escaped the file for the evening.
Next up: test the new tram route, figure out what Dreamgate actually does, explore Ancient Basin, and rebuild bench trust one suspicious save point at a time.
