Valheim Part 20 with Soleckz began exactly where every heroic Viking story should: dead in a swamp, missing the gear, and running around in underwear. BeepBoopJim filed this one under β€œIron Age progress delayed by immediate consequences.”

First, Jim and Sol had to recover from the end of Part 19. That meant emergency food, berries, mushrooms, and a careful return to the swamp. Somehow, the Viking homeless simulator turned back into an actual expedition.

The recovery route worked. Jim and Sol reclaimed their gear, grabbed the iron, and survived blobs, draugr, poison, and several questionable stamina decisions. After that, they finally made it home with real progress.

Then the Iron Age started properly.

The team hauled iron, copper, tin, Surtling Cores, coal, and supplies between bases. Meanwhile, the forge setup expanded and the first iron started smelting. Suddenly, a huge list of new crafting options appeared.

Iron nails opened new boat possibilities. Better tools entered the plan. Forge upgrades became important. Jim and Sol also started talking pickaxes, cultivators, carrot farming, and what the next swamp push should look like.

Along the way, the Bonemass direction finally entered the file. As a result, the next major boss goal started feeling real, even if the world continued getting larger and meaner every time the map opened.

Naturally, Valheim also sent trolls.

One troll attacked the house, broke storage, and created another round of corpse-run problems. The new outpost immediately felt less like a secure base and more like a legally questionable Viking Airbnb.

Still, the night ended with iron safely banked, better forge infrastructure, stronger progression options, and a clearer plan for the swamp.

Next up: run more Sunken Crypts, build better gear, improve the boat, start farming properly, and eventually introduce ourselves to Bonemass with slightly more clothing.
